Leg
Veins
are inherited in a majority of patients. Trauma to the legs as well as prolonged
periods of standing can accelerate their formation. Pregnancy and other hormonal
influences can also play a role in making excess leg veins more common in women.
Visible
facial veins, which have many different names (spider veins, telangiectasias,
spider angiomas, benign vascular lesions), are actually dilated blood vessels.
They are usually found on various parts of the face including the forehead, nose,
cheeks, eyelids, neck, and upper chest. Spider
Veins form from high pressure in the venous system. This, in turn, forces
the thin walled veins to expand. These engorged capillaries then expand several
times their normal size forming spider veins. Not only are spider veins unsightly,
but they can also cause aching, swelling, burning, and night cramps in the legs. Reticular
veins are those blue veins that lie well below the
skin's surface and are larger than the spider veins. They often are the source
of spider veins and must also be removed in order to achieve a long-term result
in your treatment. Finally,
varicose veins are quite large, and tend to bulge with a rope-like texture
on the skin's surface. If left untreated, severe varicose veins can lead to chronic
swelling, skin color changes, exema type symptoms and finally to ulcerations that
will not heal until the veins are taken care of. Both women and men can suffer
from varicose and spider veins. They are likely to cause pain and be related to
more serious vein disorders. Doctors,
Surgeons & vein clinics treat veins in different ways. The best technique
used to treat spider and reticular veins involves laser treatments, Intense pulsed
light therapy, photo facials and sclerotherapy. Varicose Veins are best treated
with Sclerotherapy & Endovenous Laser Therapy.

Small prominent facial vessels may be reduced in color or permanently
removed by a special laser treatment. This effect is immediate
and is very popular with patients. There is a small amount of
discomfort and redness after the 5-15 minute treatment. While
a few vessels typically return, others remain permanently removed
after the treatment. |
