Botox has quickly become one of the most popular procedures available mainly due to its effectiveness in treating the most problematic wrinkles of the face: Fine Lines, crow's feet, forehead lines, forehead creases and frown lines.

Crow's Feet are those annoying little lines by your eyes which cause you to look older far more rapidly than many other skin changes. These wrinkles radiating from the corner of the eyes are caused by smiling, laughing, or squinting. And over time, they just deepen as the muscles of expression thicken from use. The reason Crow's-feet form is due to collagen and elastic fiber changes caused by smiling. Smiling tightens the orbital muscle, which shortens the length of the muscle relative to the skin. With time, small wrinkles form, eventually growing to deep lines. In a young person Crow's-feet are visible only during smiling; age solidifies them into permanent wrinkles.

Botox is a very effective treatment for Crow's feet. Its success is due to the fact that it attacks the cause of Crow's-feet (orbital muscle tension) by temporarily paralyzing the orbital muscle.

The lines that appear between your brows, called Frown Lines, result from muscle movement and the passage of time. Two muslces are largely responsible for frown lines between the brows. When those muscles contract, they draw the brows together. As skin becomes less elastic over time, repeated frowning can result in those moderate to severe lines between the brows.

Injecting Botox directly into the muscles that causes frown lines stops your ability to draw your eyebrows together when you frown. Once the muscle is paralyzed, it cannot contract, and frown line gradually fades away.

Studies have also suggested that Botox® is effective in relieving migraine headaches, excessive sweating and muscle spasms in the neck and eyes.
